Christina-Maria Mittelmaier is an international London-based ballet teacher, coach and choreographer.
Christina began her studies in dance in Greece at the National School of Dance, Athens. After her graduation, she danced in a variety of classical and contemporary productions in Europe and the US, dancing soloist roles with the Company of Ballet Austin in classics as Don Quixote, Swan Lake, and Nutcracker.
Christina has over thirty years of experience in teaching ballet and has taught everybody from beginners to professional dancers, actors such as Ben Daniels, and professional athletes of Rhythmic Sportive Gymnastics. She also taught company class at Ballet Austin, as well as teaching ballet at the Academy of Ballet Austin in the Youth and the Pre-professional Division.
When Christina moved to London in 2001, she took up the position as Head of Ballet at D&B School of Performing Arts, where she taught ballet, body conditioning and choreographed for the schoolʼs productions. She was a ballet teacher at Morley College for several years and also taught as a guest teacher for Birkbeck College. Later, Christina taught ballet and body conditioning at the Danceworks Ballet Academy, and choreographed and set works for the Academyʼs acclaimed productions. She also taught at the London Contemporary Dance School on the undergraduate program at The Place.
Over the years, Christina has continued to develop her expertise by attending workshops led by prominent figures in the ballet field, such as Gretchen Ward Warren from the University of South Florida, as well as Pilates courses with renowned instructors like David Katz in London. Christina is also a certified teacher of the Progressing Ballet Technique.
Currently, Christina teaches open ballet classes and ballet courses at Pineapple Dance Studios as well as open ballet and body conditioning classes at Danceworks Studios. She also coaches dancers in private classes in preparation for auditions and young dance students for entering vocational schools. Though based in London, Christina also teaches abroad, including France, Germany, and Greece. In addition to her dance credits, Christina earned her Bachelor of Arts in Classics from The Open University in 2010.
Christina joined Impact Dance in 2022 as a regular member of the team specialising in teaching Ballet for Hip-Hop Dancers.
