Esther “Estée Blu” Lenda Bokuma discovered her confidence, discipline, and creative voice at Impact Dance. During her pivotal teenage years, the company provided mentorship, community, and a safe space to explore her artistry. Today, Estée Blu is a music executive, artist, and founder of a wellbeing platform, drawing on lessons learned at Impact to lead and inspire.
The Impact Effect
Being part of Impact helped Estée Blu develop a growth mindset, resilience, and a strong sense of self. “Being apart of Impact Dance during my pivotal teenage years was such an exciting opportunity and real blessing. It provided a safe place to be myself, make friends and practice the discipline of dance,” she reflects. Impact provided the foundations for her artistic and professional journey.
Best Memories / Highlights
One standout moment was collaborating with The Royal Ballet School in 2009, merging street dance and classical techniques – a transformative experience that remains a highlight of her creative journey.
Life After Impact
Since leaving Impact, Estée Blu has pursued a career combining artistry, education, and executive leadership. She has transitioned from teaching to music, serving as an artist and executive, and founded BLU WAV, a wellbeing platform. The lessons from Impact – confidence, resilience, and community – continue to guide her professional and personal choices.
Artistic development, growth mindset, community and mentorship are things that I learnt week in and week out over the two years I was at Impact. I continue to value and invest in these as my career has progressed.
