Anthony “A.D” Duncan’s years at Impact Dance introduced him to the intersection of hip-hop and theatre, accelerating his performance skills and teaching him discipline, collaboration, and musicality.
The Impact Effect
“Being at Impact Dance gave me my first real introduction to the mergence of Hip-Hop and Theatre,” A.D reflects. Experiencing live performance, touring, and teaching fostered skills that have been directly transferable to both his dance and fitness careers.
Best Memories / Highlights
Booking his first tour as a backing dancer, travelling nationally and internationally (including Hong Kong), and performing in productions like The Magic Hat remain highlights of his time at Impact.
Life After Impact
Since Impact, A.D has continued as a professional dancer, performing on StreetDance 3D Movies 1 & 2, Britain’s Got Talent finalist with Flawless Ent (2009), and Glastonbury 2022 (Kendrick Lamar). In 2014, he became a Ride Coach, now a Master Ride Coach, blending dance with fitness.
From my knowledge of using the body, being able to hold a space, musicality and athleticism as well as the discipline in dance training, they’ve all been extremely beneficial to my role.
