Impact Dance seeks a Pastoral Lead to support the wellbeing and safety of young dancers attending its Saturday Academy on Shaftesbury Avenue, London.
Do you have experience supporting young people in creative, community, or educational settings? Are you passionate about empowering the next generation through care, consistency, and connection? Would you thrive as part of a small, values-based team where young people’s voices are at the centre of everything we do?
Impact’s values are: Safe • Empowerment • Teamwork • Growth
Join our small, friendly team in the heart of central London at Impact Dance – an art-for-social-change, Hip Hop dance company specialising in youth talent development, with a strong focus on working with girls and young people from Black African & Caribbean backgrounds.
The Academy Pastoral Lead is a key member of the Saturday Academy team, ensuring that every young person is safe, supported, and ready to thrive. You’ll act as a visible, trusted adult presence across the day – overseeing registration and attendance, supporting positive behaviour, and creating a welcoming atmosphere. You will also lead two registration sessions each week, using games and activities to check in with students and prepare them for their learning.
This role combines safeguarding awareness, youth engagement, and emotional intelligence, helping to build a positive and empowering culture across the Academy.
Since 1995, Artistic Director Hakeem Onibudo has been championing Hip Hop dance and youth development, establishing Impact as a centre of excellence for young people aged 11-19. As a Black-led organisation, we are committed to creating a more diverse and inclusive creative sector.
We particularly welcome applications from people from Black African & Caribbean backgrounds and from disabled people – for whom we guarantee an interview if you meet the essential person specification.
