Vicky Thornton has over 20 years of experience in supporting dance artists and companies to realise their creative ambitions by creating the best conditions to make projects and organisations fly.
After graduating with BA (Hons) in Dance and Culture from the University of Surrey in 2002, Vicky cut her producing teeth at South East Dance, where she held a plethora of roles spanning from Project Assistant through to Acting CEO in just 5 years. As Head of Screen Dance, Vicky spearheaded the company’s internationally recognised specialism working on dance film commissions, including with Channel 4 and BravoFACT, and developed their Associate Artist Programme.
In 2013 Vicky set up Clearcut, a dance specialist consultancy with business partner Kyla Booth-Lucking specialising in producing, evaluation, and organisational development – developing specialisms in elders dance companies, supporting independent dance artists with exceptional and cross-sector practice, and evolving robust evaluation methodologies for dance.
As Executive Director of ZoieLogic Dance Theatre Vicky supported the successful transition into the NPO portfolio in 2018, executively produced outdoor work RIDE which touring nationally for the subsequent 6 years, and the 360° detective show Sleuth and the midscale theatre show HEIST. After securing their second successful NPO Vicky bid her ZLDT family farewell and joined Impact Dance in January 2023.
